The Fort Mill History Museum is hosting a “Strawberry Scavenger Hunt” in Downtown Fort Mill as part of the annual Strawberry Festival. You can pick up your hunt at the museum at 107 Clebourne St. beginning at 10:00am until 3:00pm.
You will follow the clues to learn the history of downtown Fort Mill and then email your answers, along with your name and number to scavengerhunt@fmhm.org or drop off back to the museum. While you’re there, enjoy taking in all the Fort Mill History Museum has on display. Entries must be turned in by 3:30 pm and a drawing from the correct entries will take place at 4pm on April 26 to select one winner. Prizes will be picked up between April 30 - May 3 at the museum during regular business hours. (10-4, Wed-Sat)

Established in 1766 in McConnell’s South Carolina, the Bratton Plantation became one of the largest cotton plantations in York County. Like other members of the Planter class, the Brattons made the majority of their wealth through the exploitation of enslaved people of African descent. During three generations of slavery at Battonsville, a distinct black landscape formed. Join historian Zach Lemhouse as he discusses the history of slavery on the Bratton Plantation and the ways in which Historic Brattonsville staff and those descended from the enslaved community are working to interpret the history and legacy of enslavement.

You will learn a little local history with a dash of holiday flair, including some seasonal songs. Our tours will be offered for two nights only, December 12th and December 19th, from 6:15-8:30. Your $20 ticket will grant you jolly guides to host you as we celebrate the holidays, past and present.

Soak up the stories behind the creation of the Springs of Achievement sculptures. Take an outdoor guided tour to learn more about the history and people the sculptures represent.
Tours wander through Walter Elisha Park in Fort Mill. Ron Lordo, a retired Springs employee who helped bring the sculptures to fruition, will lead the tours.
Tour participant numbers are limited. Tickets are required. Participants must sign a waiver before the tour starts.
Please arrive 10 minutes before your tour begins. Please park in the lot in front of 123 N White St. The tour will begin in front of the former Springs Executive Office near the corner of McCammon and N. White street.
